Never before have I thought so deeply about vampires… I really enjoyed your thoughts here. I can feel your passion through your words and I had a compelling window into the thematic allures of vampires. This sheds new light on all of the vampire-related literature and cinema I’ve encountered in my life. Thanks for sharing.
The section on blood - chefs kiss!! Your analysis is so insightful I love it. I just wrote about how sexy vampires and witches are, sex all day with these guys. I can’t wait to read your vampire novel 😃😃😃😃😃😃😃
thank you 🥹 this comment made my day/night. your post is full of so many amazing recs! I can't wait to dive in. Anne Rice really did amp up the sexual tension of paranormal creatures and tbh I love what she did and her legacy :D hahaha
My vampire novel is a feminist re-imagining of vampire mythology; it boggles my mind that no one has thought of the fact that we can survive blood donations and half the human population menstruates but vampires /must/ kill to survive...? there's no equilibrium, really...? smh I created a world where vampires live in (secret) symbiotic relationships with humans who protect them from discovery. Blood is such a rich metaphor 🩸
